ARCHIVE // GROWTH
What happens when the pursuit of growth treats everything that makes something worth having as an obstacle?
The work considers growth as an active reordering of value. Quality becomes excess, care becomes friction, durability becomes a limit, and consequence is pushed outside the frame. For those directing the expansion, these qualities are not overlooked but understood as impediments. For those drawn to what is offered, attraction and convenience conceal the gradual displacement of their own interests. By the time that conflict becomes legible, the terms of participation have already been set.

Growth uses repetition rather than catastrophe. Each contact initially registers as beneficial: a green response spreads between neighboring entities, then shifts through yellow and orange into red as resources concentrate elsewhere. Color and movement make the accumulating pattern visible without explaining it.
CONSTRUCTION
Growth is rendered in real time in the browser. Two contour vessels and 283 entities—three of them gold—share a single continuous clock rather than a fixed video timeline.
Eighteen impacts unfold across 180 seconds. No visible ripple, lighting effect, or surface grid explains them: deformation, collective movement, and accumulated exposure make the transfer legible. A short terminal absorption and black interval conceal the system as it returns to its opening state.
The soundtrack layers a slow, rubber-like synth with low contact swells and a distant voice that moves from corporate euphemism to contempt.
